Preschool children visit TEGEL-TECHNIK
In early March, Tegel-Technik welcomed two groups of children from St. Peter’s Nursery School in Giengen to the premises. As part of a child-friendly tour of the factory, the pre-schoolers were given an exciting insight into the working world at Tegel-Technik.
After a brief presentation, the children set off straight away on a tour of all the departments. In a fun and engaging way, they were shown the process from the initial enquiry right through to the commissioning of a system – a process that the children found surprisingly varied and exciting.
Particular highlights included operating the crane and a real conveyor system. The trainees’ exhibit – normally used at careers fairs – impressively demonstrated how modern conveyor technology works: from pneumatic drives and belt conveyors to automated goods handling.Using a touch panel, the young visitors could select one of four sweets and then watch as it was transported fully automatically to the collection point.
Another highlight awaited the children at the end of the tour: they were allowed to assemble a small conveyor system themselves, following simple instructions. The parts needed for this had been collected earlier during the tour of the various departments. In this way, the children experienced the entire process – from planning and design through to procurement and production – in a fun and hands-on way.
